Grand Mantaram
Jhotwara, Jaipur
2021

The Grand Mantaram is a wedding and banquet destination in Jaipur designed across both architecture and interiors. The facade is defined by a colonnade of large arches in warm sandstone tones, opening onto a landscaped lawn that sets the scale of arrival before you step inside. A checkered forecourt and a shaded verandah lined with potted palms ease the transition between the outdoor and indoor spaces.
The interiors carry the same sense of occasion at a different register. The main hall is a large double-height space with a coffered ceiling in layered plaster profiles, warm gold finish, and a row of crystal chandeliers running its full length. The walls are treated in alternating panels of dark green marble, textured stone tile, and backlit marble slabs separated by brass inlays, giving the room a richness that holds across different lighting conditions. Tan leather seating and a custom geometric carpet complete the floor, making the space work as well empty as it does full.
